Cook from the recipes you already have.
Take a picture of the card in the drawer, or paste the link to the blog post you keep going back to. Torrere turns it into steps you can follow at the stove. Then tell it what you'd change, say half a batch, or cheddar because you're out of Gruyère, and the recipe itself changes. Next time you open it, it's the version you made.
A week's free trial, then $12.99 a month. It works in your browser now.
No Gruyère in the house. Use the sharp cheddar.
What changed
- 2 cups shredded Gruyère
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar
A real card
This one came from Pinterest.
It gives three cook times: 20 minutes at the top, 20 to 25 in the directions, and 10 to 20 at 450° for the bacon, which you only find by following the star and the arrow. The directions never say when the bacon goes in. They do end with a heart.
What Torrere wrote from this photo
- Heat the oven to 450°F / 230°C.
- Lay the bacon on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake for 10-20 minutes, until crisp. Drain on paper towel, then chop finely.
- Turn the oven down to 350°F / 175°C. Spray or butter two 12-cup muffin tins, getting right into the corners.
Five more after that, including the 20 to 25 minute bake.
Photos, links and pasted text all work. If the method's on the back of the card, send both sides.
Changing it
You can ask Torrere to halve a recipe.
Or double it, or cut the sugar by a third. Say it however you'd say it out loud, and the recipe changes to match.
Feeding more, or fewer
Tell it how many are eating and the amounts change. Half a batch of the egg bites above starts with 6 eggs.
Out of something
Say what you've got instead. The lines that used it change, and you can see exactly which ones.
Your oven runs hot
Mention it once, or that you've only got one sheet pan, and Torrere remembers it for every recipe after.
Cups or grams
Pick one in settings and every recipe switches over, including the ones you saved last month.
Step 2 of 8
Lay the bacon on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake for 10-20 minutes, until crisp.
At the stove
Cook mode is one step
One instruction at a time, in type you can read from across the counter. The screen stays on, so it won't go dark halfway through cracking 12 eggs, and you can ask a question mid-step without losing your place.
- Timers come from the step that mentions them, and keep going when you put the phone down.
- Tap once for the next step. The buttons are sized for a knuckle.
