Torrere docs · Your recipes and your account

Torrere deletes your account at once, and it can't be undone

Checked against the app on .

Delete your Torrere account from the Account screen: Danger zone, then Delete account, then your password to confirm. The account and everything in it go immediately, with no waiting period and nothing to cancel. A receipt then lists what was removed and the little that's kept, and why. Deleting doesn't cancel a Chef subscription, so cancel that first. Without the app, you can ask by email.

Torrere deletes an account from the Account screen

On Torrere's Account screen, scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account. Torrere asks for your password, because deletion can't be undone, then Delete my account permanently does it. Every Torrere account has a password, including accounts that sign in with a passkey, so this works for everyone.

Deleting your Torrere account removes everything in it

Deleting your account removes your recipes and every version of them, your conversations and messages, your cook profile, your allergens, your sign-in details and passkeys, and every link you've shared, which stops working at once. It also clears the recipes and conversations stored on the device you delete it from.

Torrere keeps a few things after deletion, and says why

Torrere's receipt lists what's kept and why, word for word. In short: encrypted backups for up to 35 days, used only to restore the service and never to bring a deleted account back; a record of how much of a phone's free cooking was used, with no account attached; the copy the company that processes Torrere's conversations may keep for up to 30 days, which Torrere can't shorten; and tax records and evidence of any allergy agreement, with your account no longer attached. The deletion page has the full wording.

Torrere doesn't cancel your subscription for you

Deleting your Torrere account doesn't cancel Chef. A subscription carries on billing through your card, the App Store or Google Play until you cancel it there, and once the account is gone Torrere can't do it for you. Torrere shows this warning before you delete if you have Chef. Cancelling Chef says where to do it.

Torrere deletes an account by email too

Write to support@torrere.com from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". It takes a day or two by email. The deletion page has the details.
