Chef is Torrere's subscription, with a free week on the web
Chef is $12.99 a month or $99.99 a year, in US dollars, and it's what lets Torrere read and write recipes for you: reading links, pastes and photos, changing recipes in conversation, and reviewing the method when you scale one. On the web, Chef starts with a 7-day free week, and a card is needed to start it. In the iPhone and Android apps, the free trial comes from the App Store or Google Play.
Chef covers everything Torrere reads and writes
With Chef, Torrere reads recipes from links, pasted text and photos of up to 4 pages at a time, writes and changes recipes in conversation, and reviews the method when you scale a recipe to double or more, or half or less. Chef's free week includes all of it.
Torrere without Chef still opens your recipes
Without Chef, Torrere still opens every recipe you already have. You can cook from them, change their servings, rename them, share them, and set your units, allergens and cook profile. On the web, anything that asks Torrere to read or write a recipe needs Chef. The iPhone and Android apps come with a small amount of free cooking on each phone, which covers reading links and pastes and changing recipes in conversation until it's used up. Photos aren't part of it. When it's used up, Torrere says so, and Chef picks up from exactly where you were.
On the web, Chef starts with a week you don't pay for
On the web, Chef starts with 7 days free, on the monthly or the yearly plan. Torrere asks for a card to start it and charges nothing until the week ends; if you cancel before then, you pay nothing. There's one free week per account, and prepaid cards and cards already used for another free week aren't accepted. When the week ends, Chef renews at the price you chose until you cancel.
The Torrere apps sell Chef through the App Store and Google Play
In the Torrere apps, you buy Chef through the App Store or Google Play, and any free trial is theirs. The price is set in your country's store, so it's in your currency and may not be exactly $12.99. A Chef subscription bought on the web works in the apps when you sign in with the same account, and one bought in an app works on the web.
Chef is cancelled where you bought it
- Bought on the web: in Torrere, go to Account, then Plan, then Manage subscription. That opens Stripe's page for your subscription, where you cancel it.
- Bought on iPhone: cancel in the App Store's subscriptions settings. Torrere's Plan section has Manage in the App Store.
- Bought on Android: cancel in Google Play's subscriptions. Torrere's Plan section has Manage in Google Play.
Cancelling stops the next renewal, and Chef carries on until the end of the time you've paid for. Your recipes stay yours either way. Deleting your Torrere account doesn't cancel a subscription, so cancel it first.
Chef is refunded by whoever charged you
A Torrere subscription bought on iPhone is refunded by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. One bought through Google Play is refunded through Google Play. For one bought on the web, write to support@torrere.com.
