Torrere docs · Getting a recipe in Torrere
Torrere brings recipes over one at a time, as a link or as text
Torrere can't open another app's export file, so there's no bulk import from Paprika, Mela, Copy Me That, AnyList or ReciMe. Each recipe comes over one at a time, in one of two ways. If it was saved from a website, paste that page's address into Torrere. If it wasn't, or the site won't answer, copy the recipe's text out of the other app and paste it into Torrere.
Torrere reads the original page when there is one
Most recipe apps keep the address of the page a recipe was saved from. Paste that address into Torrere and Torrere reads the recipe from the page itself, the way it reads any link. That's usually the better copy: it's the recipe as its writer published it, rather than as another app stored it. Some big recipe sites answer Torrere with a browser check instead of the page; when a site won't answer lists which ones and what to do.
Torrere reads copied text from any app
Anything you can select and copy, Torrere can read. Open the recipe in the other app, copy the ingredients and the method together, and paste them into Torrere as one message. Torrere sorts out which lines are ingredients and which are steps. Pasting a recipe has the limits.
Torrere doesn't open export files
Paprika's .paprikarecipes and HTML exports, Mela's .melarecipe files, Copy Me That's HTML and TXT exports, and ReciMe's PDFs are all files, and Torrere doesn't read files. Torrere reads links, pasted text and photos of recipe cards. A text file you can open on your computer is still text, though: open it, copy one recipe, and paste that into Torrere.
Torrere takes Paprika recipes by their source or as text
In Paprika, a recipe saved from a website shows its source in blue. Tap it to open the original page, then copy the page's address and paste it into Torrere. For a recipe you typed in yourself, Paprika's share sheet can share the recipe as text: share it to Notes or to yourself, copy the text, and paste it into Torrere. Torrere can't open the Paprika file that Paprika's Email option attaches.
Torrere takes Mela recipes by their link or as text
Mela keeps a recipe's source in its link field. When that's a web address, open it and paste the page's address into Torrere. Otherwise copy the recipe's ingredients and method out of Mela and paste them into Torrere. Mela's own export files and its PDFs aren't something Torrere opens.
Torrere takes Copy Me That recipes by their original address
Copy Me That keeps the address of the page each recipe came from, so paste that original address into Torrere. Copy Me That's own recipe pages on copymethat.com didn't answer Torrere when this page was checked, so paste the original site's address rather than the Copy Me That one. Copy Me That can also export your recipes as TXT files: open one, copy a recipe, and paste it into Torrere.
Torrere takes AnyList recipes by their link or their text
In AnyList, open the recipe, tap Actions (•••) and choose Email, Print & AirDrop. Send Recipe Link sends the address of the recipe's original source, which you can paste into Torrere. Send Recipe sends an email with the text of the recipe in it; send it to yourself, copy the text, and paste it into Torrere.
Torrere takes ReciMe recipes as copied text
In ReciMe, tap the Share icon under the recipe's picture. Torrere can't read the PDF that Export as PDF makes, so copy the ingredients and method from the recipe instead and paste them into Torrere. If the recipe came from a recipe website, pasting that site's address into Torrere works too. Torrere reads web pages, not videos, so a recipe ReciMe saved from a video needs its text copied.
