Torrere docs · What Torrere keeps about you

Torrere remembers only what you let it

Checked against the app on .

Torrere keeps a short list of facts about your kitchen and how you cook, up to 40 of them, and nothing goes on it unless you typed it there or said yes when Torrere asked. Each recipe's chat also carries its last four exchanges, so "make it spicier, like we said" works. You can remove any fact, or all of them, from the Account screen at any time.

Torrere's cook profile is under About you

The list is under About you on Torrere's Account screen. It holds up to 40 facts of up to 120 characters each, in four groups: Kitchen, Household, Taste and How you cook. "No food processor" and "Cooks for five" are the kind of thing it's for. Type one in yourself and it's kept straight away. Torrere uses the list in every recipe, so a recipe for someone without a food processor doesn't ask for one.

Torrere asks before it keeps anything you say in chat

When you mention something in passing that will still be true next week, Torrere may offer to remember it. A card asks "Remember this?" with Keep and Not now, and nothing is kept until you tap Keep. Torrere doesn't offer to remember tonight's request, anything about someone other than you, or an allergy, a health condition, or a religious or medical diet.

Torrere keeps allergies on their own screen

Allergies don't belong in Torrere's cook profile, and Torrere never offers to put one there. They have their own screen, with its own agreement, and Torrere checks every recipe against them. Allergens explains how that works. Torrere has no diet setting.

Torrere forgets a fact when you tell it to

Each fact in Torrere's cook profile has an × to remove it, and Forget everything clears the whole list at once, with no confirmation. A removed fact stops being used straight away. Torrere keeps a record of removed facts until your account is deleted, and then they go with it.

Torrere's chat remembers the last four exchanges of a recipe

Each recipe in Torrere has its own chat. When you send a message, Torrere also reads the last four exchanges of that recipe's chat, up to 4,000 characters in all, so a follow-up that refers back works. Anything older than that isn't read, and a new recipe starts with no chat history, though your cook profile and allergens go with every recipe. Torrere keeps chat messages for 90 days.

Torrere keeps the conversation you see on your device

The conversation on screen for each recipe is stored on the device you had it on. Another phone or computer signed in to the same account shows the recipe but not that conversation. Signing out leaves it on the device. Forgetting a recipe on Saved recipes removes its conversation from that device, and deleting your account removes it from the device you delete it on.
